Recycled silk

Width: 90 cm

Weight: 45 g/m2

Composition: 100% silk (80% recycled silk, 20% mulberry silk)

Density : light

Origin: Fibres: India - Weaving: India

This silk is made of 80% recycled silk, from offcuts of the silk industry (from spinning to garment making), and 20% mulberry silk. This makes it a particularly eco-friendly product.

This fabric is soft, opaque and shiny. In its natural undyed colour, it has a certain body. Fine weaving marks, linked to the use of recycled fibres, can be seen (see photo).

This fabric is suitable for garments such as scarves, dresses, blouses and skirts. It is also ideal for accessories or cushion covers.

The fabric is ready to dye. It is perfectly suited to natural dyes. It has already been pre-washed for dyeing. For best results, simply soak it in water for 30 minutes before dyeing. For strong, intense colours, consider mordanting it.

Care: recycled silk can be dry-cleaned or washed by hand, in water not exceeding 30° and with a mild detergent.
